April Fool's day fun
In honor of this beautiful April 1 morning, we at Grids for Kids arranged a series of telephone calls with the top four remaining presidential candidates from the two major parties. In this year of meaningless endorsements, we wanted to see if we could get an endorsement from the candidates for our Grids for Kids Logic Puzzle Books. So we threw them our sales pitch, hit 'em with our best shot, and here are the results:
Donald Trump's reaction was immediate and enthusiastic - almost like he didn't even give it a moment's thought. "Phenomenal!!! Absolutely Extraordinary!!! Full of Pizzazz!!! This will Make America Great Again!!!" When we could finally get a word in edgewise, we thanked him heartily for his ringing endorsement, and felt pretty good about our future. He phoned back an hour later to say he'd considered it more and thought it was a terrible idea. Oh well.
Ted Cruz was looking to trade. He would endorse us if we would endorse him, or vote for him ... or give him money. We said no, this wasn't political. It was just about encouraging young, inquiring minds. "Inquiring? You with the Enquirer? They're garbage I tell ya, they're garbage!! Let me be crystal clear. Half o' their stuff's 90% false - 60% o' the time." Click. (We weren't certain, but he sure sounded jittery there at the end. Probably too much coffee.)
Hillary's interview was a little calmer - at first. She finally told us to send her a PDF of a sample puzzle. But when we asked her which email account to send it to, she just went NUTS!!! Not sure what that was about.
Ol' Bernie thought we had a marvelous product. "This is a revolutionary technique! Every schoolkid in America needs one. Deserves one. Thank you for volunteering the sweat of your brow and the fruits of your labor ... for free." This wasn't exactly the kind of endorsement we were looking for. Trying to find the silver lining, we told him, "Well, I guess we could use it as a tax write-off." But then he didn't want to talk to us anymore.
In summary, after speaking with these candidates and surveying the current political situation in our country, we can only come to one conclusion: NOW is the time to teach your kids logic!!!!!! Visit http://www.gridsforkidslogicbooks.com/store.html. Go ahead! Do it for the country!
Happy April Fools'!
